Jubilee 2000: In Honour of The Holy Roman Catholic Church The Papacy and His
Holiness Pope John Paul II "Per manus hominis, a manu neminis."
"Through the hands of man, by the hand of no man."
The sculpture, to be erected in Rome, is a Hyper-parabolic
Column, having a steel superstructure, will be clad in one-half inch thick
bronze panels in deep relief.
The structure, 135 feet in height, will be 18 feet long and 9
feet at its widest point, consisting of 75 panels measuring 9' x 9'. Each panel
will again have sections that will measure 3' x 3'.
The "knife edge" will be 6 inches in width, to which
will be affixed 265 bronze plaques, again, one-half inch in thickness, bearing
the names of each successor to St. Peter in the two thousand year history of the
Church.
