With their captivating new album, 'The Promise', Il Divo have announced
details of their 2009 world tour.
The world's most successful operatic quartet (over 22 million albums sold)
will play The O2 on Friday 27 February 09.
Since coming together in 2004, Il Divo - David Miller, Carlos Marín, Urs
Buhler & Sébastien Izambard - have sold out two world tours, performing to over
1.5 million fans in thirty countries.
The 2009 tour, An Evening with Il Divo will see eight performances in the UK,
followed by concerts in Ireland, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Spain,
Italy, Paris, Switzerland, Serbia and Slovenia. The tour will then head to North
America and cross six continents before closing the year in Australia, Japan and
South East Asia. The new show will be staged and choreographed by William Baker
(Kylie, Jamiroquai) on a state of the art set, which also offers fans the chance
to sit within the staging for a unique concert experience.
The show will feature repertoire from their five albums and some new songs,
with Il Divo onstage the entire evening. They will perform for approximately 90
mins with a 20 min intermission integrated into the set (there will be no
support).
Il Divo Biography
Il Divo, Italian for "divine male (performer)", is a multinational
operatic pop vocal group created by pop impresario Simon Cowell, and signed to
the Sony BMG music label. Il Divo is formed by singers Carlos Marín, Urs Bühler,
David Miller, and Sébastien Izambard.
